        Vellum Card Challenge

This is my inspirational card for the vellum challenge at Fitztown this week.  It has been awhile since I have used vellum on a card. I love how velum give a card such a soft look.

I used this pretty image called Mystical Fae 2 from Morgan Fitzsimon's collection at Fitztown, you can find the image here

I die cut the vellum background with my new stitch die and made the velum flower with a couple of flower punches that I added rubbed some Inka Gold on give some interest.

You have still lots of time to join in this challenge. Just create your card and enter it here. Thank you for stopping to take a look.

        Recycle, Re-Purpose, Re-Invent - October, Fall, Harvest and Halloween - Part 2

This is one of my projects  for part 2 of the Recycle, Re-Purpose, Re-Invent challenge blog.

I wish I had taken a picture if my clock before I painted it.  The clock was one a girlfriend had given me that she found at a garage sale.  It was cheap plastic, the silver coating was peeling and the clock background was blue and gray strips.  I thought is was a good project to use on of CS Design's digital images called Solitaire/Steampunk Round.  The image is part of their Steampunk Digital Stamp Series and can be purchased here.

I first coated the clock with a Mat Medium to stop the peeling of the finish then I spray painted the clock brown. Once the spray paint dried I then painted the clock with Kroma Crackle Paint and then another layer of Mat Medium. Once the paint cracked and was completely dried I  dry brushed on brown, orange and gold paint until I got the effect I wanted.

The metal leaves on the clock were from some wine markers that I had.  Some of the leaves I used a couple of different embossing on it to give them some colour and the other leaved I painted with the same paint as the clock.

The dragonfly was from a old necklace and also was coloured with paint.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you can join us in the challenge.  Try something new.

This is one of my projects for this weeks Anything Goes challenge at Not Just Cards.  I made my little bag with my Cricut and the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge and used a digi from Deedee's Digis called Merry and Bright. Deedee's Digital is one of our sponsors this week.

I printed my digital image on to a half sheet of Ink Jet Shrink Plastic and coloured the image with several different art pens. I stamped a Merry Christmas on to the plastic with Stazon Ink.  Once I finished colouring I sshrunkenthe plastic in my toaster over.  Next I added glitter on to the boarder and the Christmas lights and fastened the image to the bag and completed the project with a so glittered stars and a Christmas ribbon.

                                            Front views

I had lots of fun making this box.  The image was coloured with Copics, Gell pen and glitter.  I decorated the cheese box using my Gelli Plate using colours that I used in my image. The trim at the bottom part of the box is Washi Tape stained with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

I completed my box by adding some knobs that I stained also with  Distress Ink, die cut butterfly, bling and some metal elements.

Chris / CS Designs  .. The store does not allow comments so to play and be eligible for a prize you will have to find my little ghost hidden somewhere among my designs and write to Chris with where you found him. Chris will chose 1 winner from all those who find him.

This is one of my projects for this challenge, a Tea-Light using Chris' image called Raven and the background Halloween paper is also from
Chris' collection and is called Mixed Halloween Text.  All of the images for this project were from the Gothic Macarbe Halloween Digital Stamp Collection

I used several recycle items for the project.  The top of the tea-light is made from a couple of different ribbon rolls, buttons are from a old top, the card board for the top and bottom of the tea-light is a cereal box and the acetate was from some packaging.  The ribbon came from a box of chocolates.

My second project this week is a Halloween door hanger.  I thought the shrunken heads would make a interesting door hanger for Halloween.  I also used the spider digital paper and a Zombie powder advertisement.  All of the images for this project were from the Gothic Macarbe Halloween Digital Stamp Collection

I used several recycled items for door hanger including the large padlock I  found a few years ago at a thrift store and have used it in other Halloween projects and cardboard to reinforce the shrunken heads and twine from the recycle bin .

These projects were fun project to make.

I hope you will join our first challenge and the Blog Hop.
